Saw Palmetto is most commonly used to help treat Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, more commonly referred to as BPH. BPH is the enlargement of the prostate gland, making it difficult for men to urinate and causing hormonal imbalances.
Saw Palmetto is an antioxidant, which helps reduce inflammation. The berries are used to help regulate hormones, improve prostate health, and prevent hair loss in men. It does this by blocking the activity of the 5-alpha reductase, an enzyme that is responsible for converting testosterone into dihydotestosterone (DHT). DHT helps to preserve testosterone levels in the body.*
