As we age, our nutritional needs change. This occurs in both men and women. Women, however, tend to lose more calcium as they age due to menopause. A woman's estrogen level drops after menopause, decreasing bone density. This means that her bones become weaker and more fragile. Bone density is not the only thing that happens as we age. We start to lose focus, energy, we are fatigued more, and due to menopause, our hormones are sometimes all over the place.
