Vitamin K2 & D3 Specs

Learn more about Vitamins K2 and D3
When people think of Vitamin K, they may think of blood coagulation as this is what it is mostly known for. However, Vitamin K is divided into K1 and K2. Like previously mentioned, K1 is involved with the blood component while K2 helps with bone and heart health. K2 is relatively new to the western world. It is mostly found in animal and fermented foods. Vitamin K2 plays a vital role in the metabolism of calcium. It activates the calcium binding between two proteins that help build and maintain bones.
Vitamin D3, also known as cholecalciferol, helps your body absorb calcium. It is usually taken by people who have a Vitamin D deficiency. Cholecalciferol is needed by the body for healthy bones, muscles, and nerves. It helps by using more of the calcium that is found in foods and/or supplements.
So why take the two together? It helps to ensure that the calcium that is being transported in your body is being absorbed by your bones rather than accumulating in your arteries. When it accumulates in your arteries it can cause narrowing in the arterial wall and block blood flow.
